Man held teen down in Myrtle Beach bedroom and raped her, warrants state

A 41-year-old man held a teen down on a bed and raped her, Myrtle Beach police say.

Officers charged Jorge A. Moreno with second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor. He was arrested by Myrtle Beach police last week and remains in J. Reuben Long Detention Center on $50,000 bond.

The alleged incident happened in 2017 and it was not immediately clear why it took three years to arrest Moreno.

In February 2017, the 14-year-old victim told police that Moreno touched her inappropriately while they were in his Myrtle Beach bedroom, according to an arrest report.

Moreno then held the teen down on the bed and performed multiple sex acts, the report states.

Second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor is punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
