Thief snatches woman’s purse as she loads her car at a Grand Strand grocery, cops say

A Myrtle Beach woman had her purse snatched from her arm as she was loading groceries into her car at a Grand Strand shopping center, police say.

The incident happened on Sunday along Beaver Run Boulevard. The road runs near several Surfside Beach shopping centers, which include a Walmart and an Aldi grocery.

A 53-year-old victim told Horry County police that she was loading groceries into her car when she felt someone tug at her purse, according to an incident report. The woman turned around, and a man ripped the purse from her arm.

The suspect took off running from the scene, the report states. There was no suspect information listed in the police report.

The purse had about $200, a phone and the victim’s car keys.
