Dog, cow and cop all injured in ‘unfounded’ Georgetown burglary call
A cow, a dog and a cop.
It’s not the beginning of a bad joke, but all the species that were injured during a police call in Georgetown County Wednesday afternoon.
Georgetown Sheriff’s Office deputies went to a reported burglary on Drivers Lane in the Pleasant Hill community around 4 p.m. The first deputy to arrive at the scene secured it with a K-9 and called for back-up, according to the department.
A nearby cow distracted the dog, which then bit the cow.
In an attempt to protect the cow, the deputy used a Taser on the K-9, according to the department. The dog was put on a leash and returned to the car.
The cow, reacting to the dog bite, struck the deputy and property owner. Their injuries were minor, according to the department.
Police say the original burglary call turned out to be unfounded, which added insult to all the injuries.
