Victim beaten, robbed while inside car in the Socastee area, Horry County cops say
A victim said he was beaten and robbed at gunpoint inside a car earlier this month and now three people face charges.
On Tuesday, Horry County police charged Marta D. Galindez, 18, Cain Francis, 18, and Jordan Norton, 20, in connection to the attack. Norton and Francis were charged with armed robbery, conspiracy and kidnapping. Galindez was charged with conspiracy and kidnapping.
Galindez is free on $30,000 bond while Norton and Francis are being held in J. Reuben Long Detention Center without bail.
The victim told police that on Jan. 4, he was robbed and beaten at gunpoint by five people in the back of a vehicle, according to a police report. The robbery happened in the Socastee area.
The victim said he escaped the vehicle and fled the area, according to the report. He then went to a friend’s house, washed his clothes and removed the blood. However, officers saw the victim’s injuries that supported his assault claims.
