Man reports being assaulted at Broadway at the Beach

A man told authorities he was attacked from behind while walking in the Broadway at the Beach parking lot, according to police report.

Officers were called about 4 a.m. Saturday to a hotel at 1200 S. Ocean Blvd. where a 22-year-old man told police he was assaulted while walking through the Broadway at the Beach parking lot, authorities said.

The victim said he couldn’t remember which side of the entertainment complex he was on when the attack occurred and didn’t get a look at his alleged attacker.

The victim told police that none of his things were taken during the assault, and that he did not want to file a report due to his military status, but did want medical treatment, according to the report.

Police said the victim had a cut on his left eye and lower chin and that his face was swollen. He was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The victim was given police contact information in case he changed his mind later and wished to file a report.
