Police looking for suspect following nightclub and motel brawl

Police are searching for a suspect after a fight that broke out at a Broadway at the Beach nightclub reignited at an Ocean Boulevard motel and left a man assaulted, authorities said.

Officers were called about 12:45 a.m. Thursday to the Bermuda Sands Motel at 104 N. Ocean Blvd. where a 18-year-old man and witnesses reported the incident, police said.

The victim, who police said had a bloody lip, told authorities his friends got jumped at Senor Frogs at Broadway at the Beach, and that the fight erupted again later back at the Bermuda Sands Motel, according to a police report.

The victim told police his friend was being attacked, and he didn’t want to get involved; however, someone punched him in the face out of nowhere, authorities said.

A witness at the scene told police that the group was at Senor Frogs when a girl in their party got into a fight with another girl, who was a friend of the victim’s.

The witness also said that her friends were attacked on the second-floor balcony at the Bermuda Sands Motel later, and that a bystander broke up the fight by pulling her friend into a room.

Police said the victim and witnesses knew the suspect from school and told police his name and where he might be found, but authorities said they could not find the suspect.

No arrests had been made in connection with the incident as of Saturday morning.
