Man inappropriately touched Grand Strand hospital employee as she gave him an exam: report

A Grand Strand Regional Medical Center employee tried to provide care to a patient when he inappropriately touched her, a police report says.

Myrtle Beach police went to the hospital on Thursday for the reported assault. The employee said she went into a patient’s room shortly before midnight for an EKG exam.

The patient was identified as Zakian Parker, 61.

While performing the test, the employee felt Parker’s hand on her thigh, according to the report. Thinking Parker was relaxing his arm, the employee brushed it off. But, Parker began to rub her genital area.

The employee told Parker that it was inappropriate, finished the test and left, the report states.

Parker told police he didn’t know what he did. He then rambled about God and asking for the victim’s phone number, the report states.

Police charged Parker with second-degree assault and battery.
