Horry County baby found not breathing on Christmas Eve, police investigating his death

A baby was found not breathing on Christmas Eve, and Horry County police continues to investigate the infant’s death.

An officer responded to a Loris home for a report of a baby who was not breathing. By the time police arrived, the infant boy was already taken to a Loris hospital by ambulance.

Officers went to the hospital, where medical personnel gave the baby CPR while in the emergency room, according to a police report. That boy’s family told the officer they were bathing the child.

Horry County police redacted the next several lines of a report that detailed the incident.

When a person picked up the child, she noticed the boy wasn’t breathing and called for help, the report states.

Police have not made any arrests in connection to the case and spokeswoman Mikayla Moskov said on Monday the infant’s death remains under investigation.
