Man arrested after woman found with knife wound, bloodied face in Myrtle Beach

A man was arrested after cutting a woman on the face, leaving her with a 1 1/2-inch laceration and bloodied face on Thursday, according to a Myrtle Beach police report.

Officers responded to the intersection of Lumber Street and Mr. Joe White Avenue for the report of an assault Thursday evening. There, they found a woman who had a cut on the left side of her chin measuring about 1 1/2 inches and her face covered in blood, the report states.

Officers attempted to speak with the woman about what had happened, but she was “all over the place,” according to police. Despite the fact police believed she was under the influence of narcotics, she was able to relay that the incident took place in the 1300 block of Dennison Avenue, the report states. She told officers that a black man with dreads wearing all black had cut her with a knife following an argument.

Police arrested her for public intoxication.

Officers followed up on her report at the offender’s house. When cops approached the offender — later identified as 43-year-old Ramando Timokee Chestnut — could be seen closing the front door, according to the report. Officers said they saw blood in the grass and on the sidewalk leading to the door.

After securing search warrants, SWAT came on scene to enter the house and officers arrested Chestnut and took him to Myrtle Beach Jail.
