Myrtle Beach police responding to shooting incident, one believed to be injured

One person is believed to have suffered gunshot wounds in Myrtle Beach on Friday night, according to MBPD Cpl. Thomas Vest.

As of a little after midnight officers were on scene of the 200 block of Cedar Street investigating a shooting incident, Vest said. One person is receiving treatment for injuries that indicate a gunshot wound.

At approximately 11:20 p.m. officers who were on scene of a traffic stop near 3rd Avenue South and South Kings Highway heard gunshots, Vest said. A search of the area led police to Cedar Street, where they found a person who had injuries consistent with a gunshot wound.

The investigation is very early, Vest said. Anyone with information is asked to contact MBPD at 843-918-1382. Police say you can remain anonymous and reference report number 19-026785.
