Three teens charged in connection to shooting that left one dead in Pawleys Island area

One person died in a shooting in the Pawleys Island area, and three teens were charged in connection to the killing, according to police.

The Georgetown Sheriff’s Office says Deondre Brown, who lived on Martin Luther King Drive, was shot and killed during a Wednesday robbery around 9:30 p.m.

Officers interviewed three teens at Waccamaw High School on Thursday and then charged them in connection to the shooting. Those arrested were Aiden Marshall Zasimoritch, 17, Colby Barnes, 18, and an unnamed 15-year-old. Police stressed at no point was the school in danger.

Police continue to investigate the shooting.

Martin Luther King Road is off U.S Highway 17. Officials said there was no danger to the community in the shooting’s immediate aftermath.
