Police arrest 15 people as part of massive drug dealer bust in Georgetown County

Georgetown and state police forces teamed up to arrest 15 suspected drug dealers Monday, according to a news release from the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office.

Teaming with the Georgetown city police department, the 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, officers dispersed the county with warrants for 28 suspected drug dealers and six other violent suspects. The bust was the product of months-long investigations into drug purchases in Georgetown County, police say.

The operation resulted in 15 arrests on those warrants as well as additional charges, the release states.

“These arrests demonstrate the sound working relationships among law enforcement agencies in Georgetown County and the new normal in the sheriff’s office, making every attempt to rid our communities of those who would do harm,” Sheriff Carter Weaver said.

Those arrested are listed below along with their charges:

  • Rahseed Brown, Breach of Trust with fraudulent Intent, Hinder/ Obstruct Law Enforcement Officer
  • Marcus Brown, possession of LSD, cocaine
  • Damon Grate, multiple distribution charges
  • Kensley Johnson, distribution of Marijuana
  • Pierre Marsh, multiple distribution charges
  • Nasean Pringle, hinder obstruct law enforcement officer
  • Mark Mau, kidnapping, assault, assault and battery, first degree
  • Shon Moore, multiple possession with intent to distribute and distribution charges
  • Jabyron Richardson, multiple possession with intent to distribute, distribution, trafficking and handgun charges
  • Landon Small, multiple distribution charges
  • Vernon Swails, burglary, felon in possession of a handgun
  • Mary Lynn Thomas, multiple distribution charges
  • Dashaun White, distribution of cocaine base, 2 counts
  • Rakeem Williams, multiple possession with intent to distribute and handgun charges
  • Camren Green, multiple possession with intent to distribute and handgun charges

The arrested were taken to the Georgetown County Detention Center, where they were awaiting bond Monday evening, the release states.

Authorities are still searching for the other suspects in an operation they’ve dubbed “Warrant Round-up 12/9/19.”
