Man dead after shooting at Conway area home, Horry County police seek suspect
A man died after a shooting at a Conway area home Friday evening and Horry County police is searching for a suspect in connection to the murder.
Horry County police Lt. Mark Bonner said the death happened at a home off Mayfield Drive around 5 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a shooting and the victim went to the hospital where he died a short time later.
The Horry County Coroner’s Office has not identified the victim.
Police say Aarin Jamal “AJ” Michael, 26, got into a fight with the victim. Officers say the preliminary evidence shows Michael fired at the victim then fled the scene. The victim and Michael knew each other before the incident, Bonner said.
Michael is 6-feet-4-inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. He has a teardrop tattoo under his right eye and several other tattoos on his neck and body.

Mayfield Drive is off S.C. Highway 319 and Harris Short Cut Road.
