Myrtle Beach police responded after a group of men beat two others unconscious outside of a nightclub, according to a police report.
Officers were called about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday to Club There at 516 Eighth Ave. N. in Myrtle Beach where two victims and several bystanders told police what happened, authorities said.
Police said they were told that about 4:10 a.m. a silver Honda Accord pulled up and about five to six men approached a 27-year-old man and a 23-year-old man.
Authorities said words were briefly exchanged between the two men and the group then a fight broke out.
The 27-year-old victim was knocked out in front of the club and lay unconscious for several minutes.
The 23-year-old victim was also beaten to the point of unconsciousness. Club security employees told police they tried to break up the fight, but simply didn’t have the man power, according to the report.
Once the two victims were knocked out, the group left the scene.
Police said both victims were very intoxicated and dazed from injuries. The 27-year-old victim told police that the fight happened because he is Russian and the suspects are from Uzbekistan.
The 23-year-old victim told police the brawl broke out because the 27-year-old victim was promoting an upcoming party that conflicted with the other group’s event, authorities said.
The 27-year-old victim was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center where he received stitches, and police said his cheek bone was probably broken.
The 23-year-old victim was advised he should have stitches by emergency medical service workers on the scene, but declined going to the hospital, authorities said.
The victims told police they knew one of their attackers and gave them some information about that person. Police said the victims were too intoxicated to provide descriptions of the other men who assaulted them.
Authorities are investigating the incident. No arrests had been made as of Wednesday morning.
