A 21-year-old man was arrested after a woman told Horry County police she was raped while waiting for help after the vehicle she was traveling in got stuck in the mud, authorities said.

Jake Cacciolfi, 21, of Conway, was arrested Tuesday and charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct, and his bond was not set as of Wednesday morning, according to jail records.

Horry County police were called about 10:30 p.m. May 26 to Conway Medical Center where a 21-year-old woman reported the incident, according to a police report.

The victim told police she was with some friends and Cacciolfi at a swimming pool in the Myrtle Beach area and that she, Cacciolfi and another person all left the pool together in Cacciolfi’s Chevrolet Envoy.

The victim said that the group was traveling on S.C. 905 when they turned off down an unknown dirt road and began riding on “muddy trails” in the woods, according to the report.

The victim told police the Envoy got stuck in the mud and that the other person traveling with her and Cacciolfi went to go get help, leaving the two alone.

The victim said Cacciolfi then climbed into the backseat and began making sexual advances toward her, and she asked him to stop, police said. She told police Cacciolfi then pulled down her pants and “forcibly raped her,” according to the report.

The victim said that the person who went for help returned with someone in a tan truck who pulled the Envoy out of the mud.

The victim told police Cacciolfi then took her home and said, “shh, don’t tell anybody,” when she got out of the Envoy, according to the report.

The victim later went to the hospital, and a sexual assault kit was completed, police said.
