One man was taken to the hospital and another man was arrested after a stabbing occurred in Myrtle Beach on Tuesday.
Brian J. Edmonds, 33, of Myrtle Beach was charged with criminal domestic violence, but more charges are expected, according to Lt. Raul Denis, spokesman with Horry County police.
Kathy Cutillo, 37, of Myrtle Beach, was also arrested following the incident and charged with public disorderly conduct, Denis said.
Cutillo’s picture was not available at the jail website.
Horry County officers responded to the incident about 2 a.m. Tuesday to a home on the 800 block of Bay Street, according to an Horry County police report.
Horry County police said Myrtle Beach police arrived on the scene and saw Edmonds leaving in a light blue Sedan.
Edmonds turned down a dead end road and was detained by Myrtle Beach police, who took him back to the home where the incident occurred, authorities said.
Once on the scene, a victim told police Edmonds was assaulting his 37-year-old, female family member and that when he tried to help her, he was stabbed by Edmonds, police said.
The stabbing victim was taken to a local hospital, and his condition was unknown as of Tuesday morning, Denis said.
Authorities said the 37-year-old female victim was very intoxicated and initially told police she did not know what happened, but then said her fiancé, who she has lived with for five years, hit her in the face several times.
Police said they did not see any visible injuries.
