Myrtle Beach police respond to domestic violence report at Ocean Boulevard hotel
Myrtle Beach police responded to a domestic violence report at about 7 p.m. Sunday at a hotel on Ocean Boulevard.
Police arrested Joseph Carraway, 34, on a criminal domestic violence charge.
According to the police report, the 31-year-old victim told police she was sitting in the hallway talking to another guy, when Carraway walked by. She called ‘baby,’ but he ignored her attempts to get his attention twice.
The victim then followed Carraway into the room. According to the police report, Carraway allegedly grabbed her throat with one hand and pushed her down on the bed, keeping his hand around her throat for one minute.
The victim said she began to pack her bag when Carraway allegedly grabbed her throat again and pushed her into a corner. She then hit Carraway, busting his lip, and ran for help according to the police report.
Police took Carraway into custody and the victim was picked up by a friend.
