The suspect in an attempted murder and armed robbery barricaded himself inside a trailer when officers arrived to serve an arrest warrant Monday afternoon, according to a news release from Horry County Police Lt. Raul Denis.

When officers from Horry County and the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force attempted to arrest him about 1:30 p.m., Ronald J. Boulerice refused to come out of the camping trailer on Plumber Road in the Conway area of Horry County, according to Denis.

Boulerice, 54, was wanted in connection with a March 20 case in which man with a life-threatening gunshot wound to his head was found in a roadside ditch. The victim survived and identified Boulerice as his assailant, authorities said.

Boulerice surrendered to officers without incident. He is being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center pending a bond hearing. Jail records show he was charged with possession of a controlled substance on Jan. 5, and again on May 1.
