One man was shot and killed at Koyote Saloon in the Myrtle Beach area early Friday morning, according to Horry County police.

The shooting happened about 3 a.m. at the club at 3506 Waccamaw Blvd., off U.S. 501 in the area near Fantasy Harbour, and there is one confirmed death in the incident.

Officers arrived at the bar just before 3 a.m. in reference to the shooting. Authorities saw a man sitting near the front door with a "bloody towel on his head," according to a police report.

The man told officers "he fell down while in the bar and claimed to have no knowledge of anything that occurred," the report says.

Other officers noted there were shell casings in the parking lot and stated vehicles were damaged by gunshots.

Grand Strand Regional Medical Center told police a gunshot victim was brought in by a personal vehicle, and police traveled to the hospital, the report states.

The victim, who was taken to the hospital, was pronounced dead a short time later, according to authorities.

Police noted a second victim was taken to a different hospital by EMS once he was stabilized. He was then transported to GSRMC where he was rushed into surgery, officers stated.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the shooting, and said anyone with information can call the police department at 843-248-1520.
