Man arrested after woman assaulted and holes drilled into her car windshield
A man was arrested after a woman was assaulted and her car windows were busted out and holes were drilled into her windshield.
Mikkie Deon Mcleod, 32, was charged with third-degree assault and battery, public intoxication, and malicious injury to personal property, according to jail records.
Myrtle Beach officers were called about 12:20 a.m. Saturday to a hotel at 1400 S. Ocean Blvd. where a 42-year-old woman reported the incident, authorities said.
The victim said she and Mcleod got into an argument about her driving him somewhere.
The victim said she was about to drive Mcleod up the street when he started drilling holes in her windshield with a power drill, according to a police report.
The victim said Mcleod then grabbed at her, resulting in her suffering scratches on her chest, police said.
The victim told police they both got out of the car and Mcleod started smashing out her car windows with the power drill. She said Mcleod head-butted her as well before she took off running toward Ocean Boulevard, police said.
A nearby witness told police he saw Mcleod break the victim’s car windows. The witness said as he got closer to the car, Mcleod took off toward Yaupon Drive.
Authorities said they found Mcleod on Yaupon Drive, and he was then arrested and taken to the Myrtle Beach Jail.
