Georgetown authorities seized drugs and arrested three people after searching a home where ongoing illegal activity was suspected, according to a press release from Carrie Cuthbertson, spokesperson for the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office.

Jermaine A. Reid, 34, and Daisy Mae Weatherspoon, 57, both of Georgetown, were each charged with unlawful alcohol sales.

Maurice Caprice Lincoln, 26, of Georgetown was charged with reckless driving, possession with intent to distribute marijuana third offense, possession with intent to distribute crack second offense, and possession with intent to distribute cocaine second offense, Cuthbertson said.

Reid, Weatherspoon, and Lincoln were each taken to the Georgetown County Detention Center.

Lincoln was released on a $30,445 bond, and Reid was released on a $250 bond, according to jail records.

Weatherspoon was released, but her bail was not listed at the jail records website.

County Sheriff’s Office deputies assisted South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division agents with the execution of a search warrant at 197 Thomas Drive in the Santee area of Georgetown County after authorities received complaints about illegal activity happening at the home, Cuthbertson said.

When authorities arrived with a search warrant, they found about 20 people both inside and outside the home, which police said was functioning as an illegal business.

Some people were able to avoid police, but Reid, Lincoln, and Weatherspoon were swiftly arrested.

Authorities said they found 13 bags of powder cocaine weighing approximately 10 grams, six bags of crack cocaine at approximately 10 grams, 29 grams of high-grade marijuana, and $1,124 in cash.

Police also said they found and seized items regarding the illegal sell of alcohol including, 14 large bottles of free-pour liquor, 76 mini bottles, and 80 beers.

Officers found drug paraphernalia, which had when thrown on the ground when they arrived, Cuthbertson said.

Authorities said the investigation is still ongoing and more arrests are expected to follow.
