One killed in Loris shooting
One person was killed in a shooting in the Loris area on Tuesday night, deputy coroner Tony Hendrick confirmed.
Officers responded to a shooting near the corner of Church Street and Spring Street in Loris, according to a tweet from Horry County police.
The shooting was reported at about 9:30 p.m. By 12:30 a.m. police officers left the scene. Several neighbors said they didn't have details about what happened.
Church Street is off Highway 701 and the shooting happened near the Kingston Lake Education and Business Center. The center is the former Loris Middle School.
No further details are available at this time, according to police, who advised the public to avoid the area during the investigation.
