Myrtle Beach police investigate after cash taken from hotel room
Police are investigating after a woman reported a $100 missing from her hotel room, authorities said.
Officers were called about 7 p.m. Tuesday to a hotel at the 3000 block of North Ocean Boulevard, where a 40-year-old woman told police the incident occurred at another hotel down the street, according to the police report.
The victim told police she had been staying at the hotel since Saturday and that she was unable to keep her belongings in the hotel room safe because it wasn’t working, authorities said.
The victim checked her bag containing the $100 dollars when she returned from the pool Tuesday and said it was missing.
Police met with a hotel maintenance worker, who checked the room’s keypad log to see if any hotel employees had entered the room. The maintenance worker said electronic records showed that no hotel employees had been inside.
Authorities said hotel surveillance footage was not available.
