Police investigate after attempted robbery
Two people told Myrtle Beach police that a man pointed a gun at them and attempted to rob them as they were leaving work on Saturday night, according to a police report.
Officers were called about 10 p.m. Saturday to the Dollar Tree at 700 S. Kings Hwy. where a 50-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man reported the incident.
The victims told police they were leaving work when they were approached on the side of the building by a man who pointed a gun at them and asked for their money, police said.
The 50-year-old victim said she turned away from him and walked back into the store. The 23-year-old victim told police the man then ran from the scene.
A witness was standing at the door at the time of the incident and told the victim’s to come back inside the store, authorities said.
Myrtle Beach detectives and crime scene investigators arrived at the store and began looking into the incident.
Police had not made any arrests in connection with the incident as of Tuesday morning.
