Myrtle Beach police investigate man being punched in throat
A 62-year-old man told Myrtle Beach police he was punched in the throat by a man who bumped into him while walking on a sidewalk along Ocean Boulevard, according to a police report.
The victim told officers that about 6:15 p.m. Sunday he was walking along Ocean Boulevard with his family when a man talking on a cellphone bumped into him, police said.
The victim said he turned around to confront the man and the man punched him in the throat, knocking him to the ground, according to the report. The victim said he got up to pursue the man, but stumbled and fell again hurting his shoulder.
A witness told police she saw the man punch the victim and then the man ran away, according to the report. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
