Horry County police investigating after man shot during robbery
Horry County police are investigating after a gunshot victim told authorities he was robbed and shot at while at another man’s apartment to buy drugs, according to a police report.
Officers were called about 10:45 p.m. Sunday to an apartment complex at 4838 Innisbrook Court, off Gardner Lacy Road, where a 23-year-old victim reported the incident.
The victim told police that a friend who was visiting came in and left, saying he needed to get something from his car. The victim said when his friend returned, a man wearing a mask and holding a gun was with him. The victim said his friend also pulled out a handgun and told him to open the door to the apartment, police said.
Authorities said an 18-year-old victim was ordered out of a bedroom and made to lie on the ground, along with the 23-year-old victim.
The 23-year-old victim told police the two gunmen asked for money and began taking things from the home, police said.
When the suspects left, the 23-year-old victim told police he grabbed a handgun from his bedroom, ran after the alleged robbers, and fired several shots at them, according to the police report.
Police said the 2000 Ford Escort the men left in had three bullet holes in the passenger-side door.
A short time later, a gunshot victim and another man went to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, and police said the men matched the description of the alleged robbers.
Officers interviewed the men who said that they were at the apartment to buy marijuana when they were robbed at gunpoint.
No arrests have been made yet in connection with the incident as police were still investigating the matter as of Tuesday morning.
