Horry County man wanted for a year in Myrtle Beach area fatal shooting arrested in Columbia
A man wanted for exactly a year in connection with a fatal shooting at a Myrtle Beach area billiards hall was taken into custody Monday morning in Columbia, Horry County police said.
Cliston Bellamy, 28, was arrested about 9 a.m. Monday in Columbia without incident by the U.S. Marshall Fugitive taskforce, Horry County police Lt. Raul Denis said.
Horry County police said a year ago Monday they were searching for Bellamy on charges in the shooting death of Jaquann Price, 24, of Longs.
Price was shot about 3 a.m. May 4, 2014, inside Smokehouse Billiards on Waccamaw Boulevard, authorities said. Price died at 6:28 a.m. that morning while being treated at Grand Strand Medical Center, Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said.
On Monday, Denis said Bellamy will be returned to Horry County to face a murder charge in Price’s death.
Last week, authorities said they were offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to Bellamy’s arrest and conviction. It was unclear how police learned of Bellamy’s whereabouts and if that reward money will be paid to someone.
The money was offered by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
