A man was arrested after a Broadway at the Beach security guard was bitten and damage was caused to the hood of a police patrol car by a man’s teeth, according to a police report.

Thomas Kenneth Warren, 29, was charged with third-degree assault and battery, malicious injury to a person or property, and disorderly conduct, according to jail records.

Police were called about 1:30 a.m. Thursday to Broadway at the Beach in the area of Celebrity Circle, authorities said.

A Broadway at the Beach security guard told police he intervened when he saw Warren push down one of his friends after being kicked out of a nearby nightclub.

The security guard said Warren bit him on the arm, causing the skin to break when the guard tried to arrest him, police said.

The security guard said Warren also bit him on the neck, breaking open his skin, according to the report.

The security guard was able to put handcuffs on Warren with the assistance of another security guard.

Myrtle Beach police said Warren was screaming, cursing, and yelling racial slurs when they arrived and that Warren seemed intoxicated.

Police also said Warren tried to kick them when they were trying to put him in the police car. Officers said Warren put his head down on the hood of a patrol car and then bit down on the hood and drug his teeth down it, causing damage, including scratch marks through the paint, according to the report.

Warren was then taken to the Myrtle Beach Jail in another officer’s sports utility vehicle.
