Horry County police are investigating after a boat landing was vandalized and a fish statue was stolen, said Lt. Raul Denis, spokesman with Horry County police.

Officers were called about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday to the Enterprise Landing, off Bay Road, in Socastee, where vandals had reportedly spray-painted several surfaces, including a portable toilet and signs, police said.

Authorities said a metal fish statue, valued at $1,000, which had been donated to the boat landing, had been taken and that $350 worth of damage had been caused, Denis said.

Surveillance footage from security cameras revealed the damage and theft occurred about 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, police said.

Security footage also showed a white, lifted, 4 door truck, with black custom wheels entering the boat landing, and that several men, who were the occupants of the truck, committed the crimes, Denis said.

Horry County police have released security footage from the incident.

Anyone with information about the truck or the men involved is asked to contact the Horry County Police at 248-1520, or on the tip line at 915-8477.
