Three Horry County men indicted by federal grand jury

A federal grand jury in Florence returned indictments on Wednesday against three Horry County men, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Jose Matias Benitez, 43, of Horry County, was charged with illegal re-entry into the U.S. after being deported and faces a maximum penalty of two years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000.

Roberto Vasquez-Gonzalez, also known as Rober Gonzalez, 23, of Horry County was also charged with illegal re-entry into the U.S. and faces the same penalty and fine as Benitez.

Both cases were investigated by the deportation officers of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Enforcement and Removal Operations, according to the release.

Donald Gene McIntyre, 39, of Myrtle Beach was charged with manufacturing counterfeit money and possession of counterfeit money in the indictment. McIntyre faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000.
