Conway police release updated report in shooting incident
Conway police released a follow-up report Wednesday in a shooting incident that occurred April 23 when a man walked into a convenience store with a gunshot wound, authorities said.
In the report released Wednesday, a Conway officer learned from the 19-year-old man that early April 23 he found a single shot shotgun while walking in the area of Church Street.
The victim said he was carrying the gun while he walked and it went off hitting him in the leg, according to the report. The victim said he tried to stop passing vehicles, but none would stop to help him.
The victim walked to a nearby Kangaroo store at 1700 Church St. and police were called, according to the report. The victim was being treated at Grand Strand Medical Center when the officer interviewed the victim for the report.
The incident remains under investigation.
