Woman arrested in connection with man stabbed in leg
Myrtle Beach police arrested a woman after a man told them she stabbed him in the leg, authorities said.
Rebecca L. Parsons, 48, was charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, according to jail records.
Officers were called about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday to a hotel at 2701 S. Ocean Blvd. where a 44-year-old man reported the incident, which he said happened at the Whispering Surf Motel at 2608 S. Ocean Blvd., police said.
The victim told police that he and his girlfriend were arguing about their relationship before the assault happened. The victim said after he got out of the shower, his girlfriend was standing near the bed holding a 12-inch kitchen knife, authorities said.
The victim said his girlfriend was “highly intoxicated” and started to come at him with the knife, according to the police report.
The victim said his girlfriend tried to stab him in the stomach, but he turned and then tried to grab the knife from her.
The victim said his girlfriend then stabbed him in the right thigh. He said left after the stabbing and went to another hotel to call police, according to the report.
Emergency medical service workers examined the victim, but he did not want to be taken to the hospital.
Officers checked the room where the incident occurred, but the man’s girlfriend was no longer at there at the time, but police later found her.
