Man at hotel to buy drugs victim of stun-gun armed robbery

A man told police he was at a hotel to buy drugs when two men “tazed” him with a stun gun and robbed him in a hotel elevator, according to a police report.

Myrtle Beach police were called about 10:20 p.m. Tuesday to a hotel at 1001 S. Ocean Blvd. where a 42-year-old man reported the incident, authorities said.

The victim told police he was at the hotel to “buy weed” when two men “tazed” him with a stun gun in the elevator then took his wallet, which contained $100 cash, debit and credit cards, and his driver’s license and social security card, according to the report.

The victim said he fought one of the men and tried to chase the alleged robbers, but they got away, authorities said.

Police took pictures of the victim’s injuries and noted in the report that they spoke with hotel employees about getting security footage.

Authorities said the victim was given a citation in connection with drug-related loitering.

Police had not made arrests in connection with the incident as of Saturday morning.
