Horry County police charge intoxicated man with burglary, four counts of larceny
Horry County Police arrested one man after he broke into a title loan businesses and ransacked several cars.
Sean Patrick Gartner, 32, of Sunset Beach, N.C. was charged with burglary, malicious injury to property and four counts of larceny.
Officers responded to an alarm at 1st Capital Title Loans,1729 Highway 17 in Little River, around 12:15 a.m. Friday where Gartner allegedly broke into the business by smashing through glass, ransacked furniture and equipment and, after finding keys to vehicles parked at the business, broke into several of the vehicles and ransacked them, Denis said.
Gartner had cuts on his barefoot feet and hands but could not tell officers how he got the injuries, according to a police report. He denied medical treatment.
Police said Gartner was grossly intoxicated and could not explain why his flip-flops were among the damaged vehicles, the report said. Gartner told police he had taken Ambien pills, the report said.
While being transported to jail, Gartner took off his seat belt and began to yell, police said. Officers pulled over, reapplied Gartner’s belt and calemd him down, according to the report.
Gartner is being held at J. Reuben Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
