Police respond to recent Market Common area car break-ins

Myrtle Beach police have recently responded to three separate incidents involving car break-ins in or near the Market Common area.

Officers were called about two incidents on Monday night and one on Wednesday afternoon, according to police reports.

Police were first called about 7:30 p.m. Monday to the 3000 block of Deville Street in the Market Common area where a 40-year-old victim reported the break-in incident, authorities said.

The victim told police she noticed the passenger side window of her car was broken and that an empty purse she left in the floor was gone, according to a police report.

Officers were also called again about 8 p.m. on Monday to the 1000 block of Forbus Court, near the Grand Park Recreational Complex, across from the Market Common shopping area.

A 47-year-old victim told police she arrived there to watch a baseball game and left her purse sitting in the back passenger side floor, according to a police report.

When the victim returned to her car, she noticed that the small, back passenger-side window was broken and her purse, containing money and credit cards, was gone, authorities said.

Police were called again to the 1000 block of Forbus Court about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday where a 26-year-old victim reported that her purse was taken, according to a police report.

The victim told police she parked her car at 12:30 p.m. and when she returned, she noticed the glass was broken out of the small, triangular window of her passenger door, police said.

The victim then noticed her purse was missing from the front passenger side, authorities said.

Police had not made any arrests in connection with the incidents as of Thursday morning.
