Woman arrested after stealing packages from Myrtle Beach home, then cops found more

Myrtle Beach police arrested a woman after she was caught stealing packages from the front porch of a home on Monday.

According to Capt. Joey Crosby with the Myrtle Beach Police Department, Stephanie Renee Stewart was charged with petit larceny, resisting arrest and simple possession of marijuana.

Crosby said officers responded on Dec. 18 to a home on the 5800 block of Sumter Drive after a woman reported that several packages were taken from her porch.

The woman told police she saw another woman, later identified by police as Stewart, riding a bike with the stolen packages.

Stewart was then arrested after a brief foot chase. Crosby said police recovered more than 100 pieces of mail and other stolen property.
