Gun, attempted murder suspect found at Myrtle Beach motel
A 25-year-old man wanted by Mullins police on an attempted murder charge was arrested at a Myrtle Beach motel Tuesday night, where a gun was also discovered, police said.
Myrtle Beach officers went to the Sea Gypsy Motel along the 300 block of North Ocean Boulevard about 7 p.m. in search of Anthony Gamble. They quickly found and detained him, the report states.
Police confirmed he was wanted by Mullins police in connection with attempted murder, and he was taken to the Myrtle Beach jail.
Authorities got permission to search the motel room from a witness whom the room was registered to, and officers were told there was a gun inside a bag in a closet, according to the report.
The witness, who has two small children, according to the report, told police she met Gamble days earlier, and that the two were staying at the motel and sharing expenses.
She told police Gamble gave her the gun and said, “Put this in your bag. The cops are outside. They won’t check it. You’re a mom,” the report states.
The gun was listed as a semi-automatic, and Gamble does not have a weapons permit, police said. He has been charged with unlawful carrying of a firearm, authorities said.
