He had 3 crack rocks in his mouth, more drugs in his pants, cops say

Horry County police discovered drugs in a 22-year-old man’s mouth and pants following his arrest, according to an Horry County police report.

Andrew Jeremy Brown of Myrtle Beach was stopped by patrolling officers about 9 p.m. near the intersection of Socastee Boulevard and Bridgecreek Drive after police noticed his vehicle was missing a tag light, the report states, which also says the vehicle was seen in the area of Macklen Road, leaving a home “suspected of being a drug house.”

Police said they smelled marijuana as they walked up to the truck. Officers asked if there was any marijuana inside the vehicle, and the suspect said there wasn’t.

More officers came to the scene, and the suspect was asked to step outside of the vehicle. Police said they saw him try to grab something from inside and kept reaching as officers asked him not to, the report states.

Authorities then took him out of the truck, and he allegedly dropped an off-white substance, police said.

He was placed into a police patrol car, and allegedly “stated that it was crack” when asked about the substance, according to the report.

“When asked about the possible narcotics dealing at the residence that was mentioned above, he claimed to know nothing of the residence or anyone at the residence,” the report states.

Police arrested him in connection with possession of crack cocaine, they said. He was then taken to the Myrtle Beach Police Department, and he was asked to open his mouth.

He spit out three pieces of off-white substance that had a consistency like crack cocaine, and allegedly told police it was crack cocaine, according to the report.

He was moved to the J. Reuben Long Detention Center, and “while en route to J. Reuben Long the suspect advised ... that he had marijuana in his pants.”

Police said they discovered a green leafy substance and an off-white rock substance from his pants at the jail.

He was charged with a tag light violation and simple possession of marijuana. Authorities noted they were seeking a warrant in connection with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine.
