Two Myrtle Beach men charged with armed robbery
Two Myrtle Beach men were charged with armed robbery in connection with a 36-year-old man being robbed outside a grocery store Saturday night, according to authorities.
Antwon Nasir McCoy, 19, and Tarama Akeem Robinson, 23, each was charged with armed robbery and remain jailed at J. Reuben Long Detention Center on $30,000 bond, according to jail records.
Myrtle Beach police were called about 10 p.m. Saturday to the Food Lion at 1009 U.S. 501 for an armed robbery, according to a police report. The victim did not speak English so store employees helped translate for police.
The victim said he went into the store, purchased cigarettes, and then when he walked out three men jumped from a ditch and confronted him at the side of the building, according to the report. One man had a gun and held it to the victim’s chest while another man went through the victim’s pockets and took the cigarettes and $80 cash.
The victim said the suspects then ran through the parking lot. Store employees said they saw a man acting suspicious in the parking lot before the robbery.
Officers arrested the two men near the scene and the victim identified them, according to the report. Information about the third man was not listed in the incident report.
