Police searching for suspect in silver Mercedes

Horry County police were assisting Atlantic Beach officials in searching for a man who reportedly kicked in a window at a home on Ocean Boulevard Thursday.

Atlantic Beach police Chief Quentin Robinson said they were called to the home around 1 p.m. and were given the description of a car the suspect allegedly used to flee the scene.

No one was attacked inside the home, but a verbal altercation did take place before the suspect fled the home in a silver, two-door 2008 Mercedes, Robinson said.

Robinson noticed the car as he was responding to the call and initiated a traffic stop, he said. But the suspect, listed as Anadai Kalili Keel, sped away starting a chase in which Horry County police were called to assist.

Keel was last seen driving the Mercedes in the Longs area. The chase was called off when police lost the car on Highway 90, Robinson said, but the search for the suspect continues.

“We do have an active warrant for him on an armed robbery that happened back in February of this year,” Robinson said.
