Two people are facing charges in a murder case involving the shooting death of a 30-year-old man Friday night.

Eugene Anthwon Powell, 21, is charged with murder, communicating threats, possessing drug paraphernalia, and possessing marijuana up to a half ounce, according to Emily Flax, Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman. Powell is being jailed without bond on the murder charge, $2,500 on the drug charges, and on a $10,000 for the communicating threats charge, Flax said.

Summer Lynn Gray, 23, is charged with accessory after the fact of murder and possession of cocaine. Her bond was set at $500,000 on the accessory charge and $10,000 for the cocaine charge, police said.

The charges stem from an incident that happened about 6:30 p.m. Friday in the area of Carlon Road and George Daniel Road in the Longwood, N.C. area, Flax said.
