Police investigating man on roof of Myrtle Beach Convention Center
An investigation launched after a man was seen on top of the Myrtle Beach Convention Center on North Oak Street Tuesday afternoon.
Capt. Joey Crosby, spokesman with Myrtle Beach, said officers got a call from a driver about a person on the roof about 2:35 p.m., and a heavy police presence surrounded the area.
The man came down from the roof after police made contact with him, Crosby said. After talking with the man, police determined he was not on the roof with intent to harm others, according to a release from police.
The man was not harmed during the incident, but he was sent to the hospital for evaluation, Crosby said.
