Odd assortment in mystery gift bag prompts call to Myrtle Beach police

A 60-year-old woman called Myrtle Beach police Monday morning when she discovered a strange mix of items inside a gift bag with unknown origins on her desk at work.

Police went to a Webster University office along the 4500 block of Oleander Drive where the woman told police she found a colorful, polka dot gift bag on her desk.

Inside she found: a box of smoked oysters, a Quaker Oat-brand instant oatmeal package, a banana, and one Trojan-brand condom, the report states.

She told authorities she didn’t know where the mystery bag came from, and neither did staff at the office.
