Myrtle Beach police were called Saturday evening to Sears at Coastal Grand Mall for a shoplifting complaint, but the suspect was arrested for more than just theft.
Around 6:30 p.m, a loss prevention officer stopped 19-year-old Haley Christine Steinberg after she left the store with unpaid items in her purse.
According to the police report, Steinberg took a swimsuit, pair of shorts, and a purse into the dressing room. She then placed the items into another purse she had carried into the store.
When police arrived, Steinberg admitted to attempting to steal the items.
While placing her under arrest, police found a baggie of marijuana, according to the report.
Steinberg was taken to the Myrtle Beach Jail for shoplifting and marijuana possession.
