Christmas presents, 100 bottles of liquor and more stolen from Myrtle Beach condo
Myrtle Beach police were called to Ocean Blue on Friday after a woman discovered that her storage unit next to her condominium had several items missing from it.
When police arrived at the woman’s 10th-floor condo, located at 2709 South Ocean Blvd., she told officers that she noticed her storage unit was open, but she was positive the door to it was locked when she left it beforehand, according to an incident report.
“It appears, due to some marks, that a screwdriver or similar instrument may have been used to open the door,” an officer noted in the report.
The report says the following items were stolen from the storage unit:
- Christmas presents
- 100 bottles of liquor
- A box of Christmas decorations
- An alcohol gift basket
- A beach umbrella
- A bag of artificial flowers
The woman told police she last saw the items around 8:30 Thursday night and noticed them missing at 10:30 Friday morning, authorities said.
Police say unknown suspects “seemingly tried to exit down the stairwell” that was across from the storage unit, but dropped some of the stolen items and left them behind.
A small amount of blood was found on a handrail in the stairwell next to the items that were left behind, the report states.
The incident remains under investigation.
