Drugs taken in Carolina Forest-area store armed robbery
A man hiding his face behind a bandana told CVS store employees he had a gun when he demanded drugs Wednesday night, an Horry County police report states.
Officers were called about 7 p.m. to the CVS at 2996 E. U.S. 501 in the Conway area near Carolina Forest for a reported armed robbery.
Police spoke with victims and witnesses, who said the man came into the store and pulled a bandana over his face. The suspect told a 23-year-old woman he had a gun and instructed her to follow him, the report states.
The woman ran to tell a store manager, and the suspect went to the pharmacy area where he told a man and witnesses he had a gun, police said.
The suspect handed over a list of drugs, and the man emptied the safe of Oxycodone, filling the suspect’s bag. The suspect then ran from the store toward Middle Ridge Avenue, authorities said.
One victim told police she saw the suspect’s face before he covered it, and she gave officers a description. No one at the store saw a gun during the incident, but said the suspect claimed to have one.
