Shoplifters make off with merchandise in mall store pajama heist

A shoplifting suspect ran across Seaboard Street allegedly stealing almost $1,000 worth of pajamas Victoria’s Secret at Coastal Grand Mall Tuesday afternoon, according to a Myrtle Beach police report.

Officers were called to Victoria’s Secret about noon where a witness told them three people came into the store and acted like they were shopping before taking items, the report states.

The witness told police the suspects stuffed merchandise, including 15 pairs of pajamas and a pair of red slippers, into store shopping bags and left without paying, authorities said.

The pajamas taken totaled to about $817.50, and the slippers were valued at $29.95, according to the report. About thirty minutes later, mall security told police they saw the suspects, identified as a two women and a man, the report states. Security said they saw the male suspect ran across Seaboard Street toward Pine Island Road with the merchandise.

Officers checked the area for the suspects, but didn’t find them, the report states.
