Arrests made after man, woman robbed at gunpoint in Food Lion parking lot

Two men were arrested after a man and woman reported they were robbed in a Myrtle Beach Food Lion parking lot Monday night.

Kevin Lee Hubert Dugger, 33, and Drake Edward Hill, 26, were each charged with two counts of armed robbery, according to Myrtle Beach police records.

Dugger was also arrested on a drug charge related to a methamphetamine or cocaine base, and Hill was additionally charged with two counts of possessing a weapon during a violent crime, records show.

Officers were called out to the incident about 8 p.m. Monday to a Food Lion store at 1609 U.S. 501. A translator came to the scene to help the victims give a statement due to a language barrier, according to the report. A 36-year-old man told police when he came out of the grocery store, a man came up to him and asked for a cigarette.

The man told the suspect no, and when he did, the suspect pulled a gun from his waistband, held it to the man’s stomach, and demanded his cash, the report states.

The suspect then turned the man around and wrapped his arm around the man’s neck has he searched his pockets, police said. The suspect then held a gun to a woman in a vehicle and demanded her cellphone and wallet, according to the report, which states she turned over her wallet, containing identification cards, and handed over her cellphone.

The suspect then ran toward U.S. 501, and police believe he got into a light blue Chrysler 300.

Hill and Dugger were arrested Monday and remained at the Myrtle Beach Jail Wednesday morning where their bonds had not been set, records showed.
