A 50-year-old man told Horry County police he discovered the body of a 22-year-old man after getting a phone call about a shooting, according to a police report.
Jahi Mishoe of Conway was pronounced dead from a gunshot at the scene late Saturday night on Willow Drive, off S.C. 544 in the Conway area, authorities said.
Officers arrived about 1:30 a.m. and talked to the 50-year-old man, who said he got a telephone call about a shooting at a Willow Drive home, and he and a friend went to see what happened.
When he got there, he found Mishoe on the ground and called 911. Crime scene tape was put up at the home and an investigation was launched, the report states.
On Monday morning, Krystal Dotson, Horry County police spokeswoman, said no arrests have been made in connection with the investigation, which is still ongoing. Anyone with information on the case can contact Horry County police at 843-248-1520.
The Sun News spoke with Thomas Johnson, Mishoe’s stepfather, on Sunday, and he said Mishoe was a “loveable guy” who had recently become a father.
“He was just trying to get himself together. His little baby, I know that really changed him for the better,” he said.
Johnson said Mishoe spent time studying electrical engineering at the South Carolina State University and worked for manufacturing company.
