Police responded to sexual assault that occurred in wooded area, searching for suspects

Myrtle Beach police are searching for suspects in connection with a sexual assault that allegedly happened in a wooded area, according to a police report.

Officers were called about 4 p.m. Monday to a hotel on the 700 block of York Street, off Seventh and Eighth Avenue North, where a victim, whose age was not listed in the report, told police about the incident, police said.

A police investigation was done; and officers determined the incident occurred in a wooded area, off the intersection of Lumber Street and Campbell Street, near Mr. Joe White Avenue, authorities said.

The victim was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Police have not released many details about the incident; however, three men were noted on a suspect list on the incident report, but police did not know their names.

No arrests were made in connection with the incident as of Thursday morning.
